WordStream Client Center

Responsible for design and implementation of the new WordStream "Client Center", a dashboard created to provide a high level status of performance across profiles within an account. Especially useful for Agencies and marketers managing multiple profiles.

Tasks associated with the design effort:
1. Perform competitive analysis alongside the Product Manager and investigate feature opportunities.
2. Interview agency customers to determine their top needs and struggles as an agency juggling multiple clients.
3. Determine requirements, write user stories, and rank features in terms of importance.
4. Round 1 of design: come up with several concepts and test via customer interviews and internal cross-functional team reviews. 
5. Analyze feedback and iterate.
6. Present to internal stakeholders, including uncovering any potential development restrictions.
7. Complete all aspects of design (flows, edge cases, interaction details), and work closely with development implement.

Challenges of the project: it was important to make sure we provided the right features for optimum value, without overwhelming the user. Since WordStream has a wide range of user levels, it was critical to keep interactions intuitive and easy to use, while immediately providing that high level snapshot across all profiles, in order for customers to decide where they should spend their time managing. We needed the interface to be familiar and fit functionally and visually with the rest of the product, while also working around development challenges. Working with dev, we were able to understand which features were more easily implemented versus others that would be too much of a challenge to tackle within the project timeframe. Also, it was always top of mind to make sure we were creating a feature that Sales and Customer Success could effectively promote and work for their needs.
Some key features include:
- Alerts: prompting user to log in to complete "Work Week" alerts, and view newly generated reports
- Ability to track against a month-to-date spend target: user enters their optimal spend per month, and their progress will be tracked against their goals
- Sorting across all metrics
- View of all platforms (AdWords, Bing, Facebook) associated with each profile
